Scotland-wide supply, lay, construction and testing of new water, fire, sprinkler and rising mains as a WIRS accredited contractor.

Data-logged hydrostatic testing to prove the main holds working pressure before tie-in.

Swab and flush the pipe clean, dose to a high-strength chlorine residual for the contact time, dechlorinate, then take UKAS-lab samples.

The chlorination certificate and sample results pack, plus primary tie-ins to existing Scottish Water infrastructure.

Flow and pressure testing for clients and developers when a fire, sprinkler or water main designer requires it. A small-works survey, quoted on request.
Why us

We quote only what the job actually needs. No padded scopes, no work you can do without, no surprises on the invoice.

About
Water main pressure testing, chlorination and UKAS-lab sampling across Scotland. We supply, lay, test and commission water, fire, sprinkler and rising mains, and hand you the certificate pack that gets the main connected.
Who we work with
We work for the trade, not homeowners. Most of our work is the commissioning stage subbed out by the people who install the pipe.

You lay the main. We swab, test, chlorinate, sample and certify it, so your scope ends at a signed-off connection.

We take the water main on your site through to the certificate Scottish Water needs, so plots connect on programme.

We handle the commissioning stage as your subcontractor, with a certificate pack that fits straight into your submission.

One specialist owns the commissioning sequence on your commercial, industrial or public sector site, with one point of contact.
A foam swab is driven through the length of the main to push out trapped air and the debris left behind during installation.
Stage focus:
The main is filled, brought up to working pressure and held, then monitored against the allowable loss for the pipe and length. We test PE, MDPE, barrier and ductile.
Stage focus:
A dosed disinfection solution is introduced and held in the main for the required contact time, then dechlorinated and flushed down to the network residual.
Stage focus:
Water samples are drawn from the disinfected main and sent for laboratory analysis against the potable standard.
Stage focus:
The results from every stage are assembled into the auditable certificate pack that Scottish Water accepts to permit connection.

Reviews
Real references from the people who put us on their sites, from main contractors to long-standing clients.
Excellent from start to finish, and second to none.
We appointed Pressure Test Scotland to carry out the new water connections for our six-house development in Currie, and the service provided by David was excellent from start to finish. David managed the installation of all the water mains, completed the required testing and commissioning, and, most importantly, liaised with Scottish Water throughout the process to ensure a smooth and hassle-free installation for our team. His knowledge, professionalism, and attention to detail were second to none. I would have no hesitation in recommending Pressure Test Scotland for any water main installation works.
An outstanding subcontractor and a real asset to any company.
We have had the pleasure of working with this subcontractor for over two years, and throughout that time they have consistently demonstrated an exceptional level of professionalism, reliability, and commitment. Their ability to prioritise urgent work while maintaining high standards has been invaluable to PTS. They work seamlessly with our team, communicate effectively, and take genuine pride in delivering quality results every time. It is rare to find someone with such dedication, consistency, and professionalism. We have no hesitation in recommending them. They are an outstanding subcontractor and a real asset to any company fortunate enough to work with them.
Over 20 years, he has never let me down once.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Davy for over 20 years and would highly recommend him. He has always turned up when required and never let me down once. Over the years we have had some challenging sites which Davy has managed to get over the line. I really appreciate his work ethic. I have had some very rural sites and, when it does not go to plan, Davy has stuck with it, sometimes not getting home until the early hours to get it done. Overall he is dedicated, professional and communicates well.
Based in Ayr, working the length of Scotland. Mobilisation is quickest across the west and central belt, and we travel wider across Scotland for planned works.
Questions
The things site managers ask first. If yours is not here, call and ask.
Get a QuoteWe are based in Ayr, so the west and central belt are quick to reach, often within a few days. Wider Scotland is booked in on programme. Call 07749 245626 with your site and the stage you are at, and we will tell you straight when we can be there.
A straightforward main can be swabbed, pressure tested and chlorinated in a single visit, with sampling to follow. The lab result then takes a few days. Timing depends on the pipe length and how many stages you need, so tell us the detail and we will give you a realistic window.
The main is re-chlorinated, dechlorinated and flushed, then re-sampled, which costs days, not hours. We manage the disinfection and residual carefully the first time to get a first-time pass, because a failed sample is the thing that stalls a connection and holds up plots. We usually carry any re-chlorination and re-sampling at our own cost and time.
Yes. Fire, sprinkler and rising mains, and any private supply that will carry water, need pressure testing. The water authority or Building Control will want a test certificate. We handle private mains the same way as adoptable ones. Chlorination and sampling will depend on the project.
On the actual scope, not a padded one. Send us the drawings or tell us the pipe size, length and which stages you need, and we quote only that. No work you can do without, no surprises on the invoice. Call or use the form and we will come back with a price.

Email them over or give us a call. You get a clear price, a date that fits your programme, and the compliance pack at the end. No pressure, no jargon.
